Join us as Sarah Beckett, MCPF of SB Framing Gallery discusses “Back to Basics: Hinging Artwork”.
In this recording of a live Speaker Series Session Sarah will provide a quick history and knowledge of hinging and why we do what we do, choose what we choose, and what we most definitely do not want to do to the artwork in our care. Sarah will discuss several different types of hinges as well as non-adhesive attachment methods for various types of media.
Sarah Beckett, MCPF, was co-owner of a frame shop for seven years, before opening her own SB Framing Gallery in Milwaukee. A long-time PPFA member and educator, teaching at the annual convention and at local events, she is a graduate of Carroll University in Waukesha, Wisconsin, with a degree in Fine Art-Gallery Emphasis, during which she worked at the Wisconsin Veterans Museum in Madison, and interned at the Minneapolis Institute of Art. After graduation, she became passionate about framing, and helping people preserve and display art.
