In this session "Framing Paintings: Notes from a Conservator," join Morgan Wylder, Associate Conservator of Paintings from the Balboa Art Conservation Center in San Diego, as she will help answer the question of when it is safe to frame a painting, and when it is time to call a conservator.
Morgan will discuss how to examine a painting, how to look for condition issues, materials and methods used by conservators, as well as tips, tricks and things to avoid. She will also discuss the importance of framer-conservator collaborations needed to address special framing scenarios and provide additional resources for further learning.
